The Whanganui Jazz Orchestra (WJO) is a vibrant big band ensemble based in Whanganui. Formed in 2009.
Around 2021, Riwai Hina took on the role of musical director, and under his leadership the orchestra has experienced significant growth and development. Known for its energy, precision, and strong community spirit, WJO performs regularly at concerts, festivals, and events, showcasing local talent while bringing the excitement of live big band music to audiences across the Manawatu/Whanganui region.
