TPWOW-Hagley College Big Band

TPWOW-Hagley Big Band is a multi-year-level band. The band meets once a week at lunchtime and enjoys rehearsing traditional swing and Bossa Nova. The band enjoys arrangements by Michael Bell, Nanako Sato, and other notable arrangers. We will be featuring a tap dance in one of the tunes.

As a school, we use the Tuakana-Taina model. Some of the Garden City Big Band members will join us for this year’s performance, and our students appreciate the chance to learn from their expertise. The head of music and leader of the School of Music, Dr Nanako Sato, leads the band.
